Hi, loves, happy Friday! I hope you’re all having a great week! Unlike last week, which you can read about here, this week has gone so. dang. fast. I literally feel like it was Monday, I blinked, and now it’s Friday. I’m definitely not complaining though, I’m so excited for the upcoming weekend and week! Matt and I have been up since 6am this morning, and after he left for work around half an hour later I’ve been glued to my laptop, writing and editing. And now I have to go get ready for a full day of work… ugh! I’m already thinking about how excited I am for us to be snuggled up in bed tonight, haha. Let’s hope the day flies by, the weekend is waiting! I hope you enjoy todays’ post!
I’m posting another #feelinitfriday today because I’m not sure you’ll get one until July now. I know, I know, I literally just started this series. BUT, it’s for good reason – next Friday is the beginning of our last weekend before we go on holiday, and the Friday after that we’ll actually BE on holiday! I might be around next week, but I might not be. Oooh the suspense! My usual Wednesday and Sunday posts will still be going live as normal on the blog so it’ll be like I never went anywhere. I will be documenting lots of our holiday over on Instagram (probably too much, lol) so if you’re not already, follow me here!
I’m still kinda figuring out how long (or short) these posts should be, as I have a tendency to ramble on. I know, shocking, right? I’m probably going to be including different “what’s” in each post, it’s a little bit of a work in progress! Please be sure to let me know if there’s specific things you’d like me to talk about in these posts, and I’ll definitely try to include that next time. I really just want to be able to connect with my readers and have an outlet to be totally myself, in a post that doesn’t centre around a certain theme or subject.
What I’m smiling about:
Matt being HOME! I literally was so freaking excited on Sunday picking him up at the airport, I felt like he’d been gone for months! He sent me these amazing flowers the day before he got home, which was such a lovely surprise, they are beautiful and have opened so much now. He knows how much I love peonies and specifically asked for them – I mean, come on?! I feel like being apart last week made us love and appreciate each other even more than we already did, if that makes any sense. I have never took what we have for granted, but I am just grateful for it even more. I’ve really been counting my blessings recently and I know how lucky I am to be in love with my best friend 🙂
What I’ve been up to:
A whole lot of enjoying getting back into our routine! Matt and I have enjoyed all of the boring, mundane everyday things more than ever – cooking dinner, watching our shows, snuggling in to sleep each night. We’ve grocery shopped, started getting organised for our holiday and made plans for this weekend, it’s been a pretty good week! Work has also been a little busier and I’m so ready for this weekend. *cue countdown to 5pm*…
What I’m excited for:
Croatia! I can’t believe we go in just over a week, we’ve been counting down since we booked our trip six months ago! I know next week I’ll be super excited, but right now I’m equal parts nervous and excited – I really am not a big fan of flying and I don’t love the stress of travelling (who does?) but I can’t wait to spend a whole week in the sun with my love. I know once my last minute orders arrive and I start packing in the next few days I’ll be just excited and not at all nervous! Also, I got a super exciting email (and PR package) this week, and I can’t wait to share with you on Sunday 🙂
What I’m eating:
Home cooked food, YAY! After living off Quorn nugs last week, I’ve loved cooking dinner with (or for, due to his later shifts) Matt more than ever. We are always trying out new dishes but this week we’ve made our favourite things, like tuna pasta bake and chicken fajitas, and they’re the perfect cosy dinner. It’s been SO cold, dark and rainy this week it seriously feels like November, not June. We’ve also been eating lots of Haribo peaches which Matt brought me home from Spain (my favourite ever sweet) and we’ve worked our way through a few too many Thornton’s Smiles, they’re the best buttons! I picked them up as a little welcome home present for him and I’m pretty sure I’ve eaten more than him, oops!
What I’m working out to:
Yoga with Adriene, because who else would I be doing yoga with? I literally love her; she’s so inspiring and uplifting, and through several of her practices the past few weeks I’ve been feeling so much better about myself. I had a bit of a panic a few weeks ago about how uncomfortable I feel in my body, and the fact we’re going to be on holiday in X amount of weeks, but really, there’s nothing I can do about it now. I am eating healthier, I’m enjoying treats in moderation (for the most part) and I’m working out as and when I can, that’s literally all I can do! I’m really trying to stop putting pressure on myself about my body image; I’m healthy, Matt loves me just the way I am (and tells me every day) and I’m grateful!
What I’m watching:
Brooklyn 99! Matt and I have been watching lots since he got home and it’s one of my favourite parts of our evening. I’m so freaking happy Jake and Amy are finally together, they’re so sweet! I’m not sure how it’s all going to turn out, but I’m going to be so sad if they don’t get married and have babies. Just saying. We’ve also got a few episodes of Ambulance to catch up on but Matt’s parents told us they’re pretty bad so we’ve not watched yet – I’m such a crier and that show gets me every single episode. I still love the show so much, I just think paramedics are such incredible people and I love watching them do their job!
What I’m loving:
Crystals! I know this is a pretty random topic so I’ll keep it short and sweet. I’ve been struggling a lot with my anxiety over the past few months, and after doing a little research I ordered several crystals to see if they could make me feel a little better. I also got Matt and I ‘worry stones’ and although I’m not 100% sure I believe in the whole concept, it’s something I’m really intrigued to learn more about. I’m not sure I’ll delve into this on the blog as it’s quite a subjective thing but if you have any questions please feel free to ask!
What I’m reading:
This week I haven’t read much of my current book but I have read a TON of blogs. I love to catch up on my favourite bloggers during my lunch breaks at work and I’ve really zoned out reading lots this week! I’ve also been a super creep and delved into people’s archives a lot, I love seeing what people have been talking about over the months or years. I now can go back a whole year on my blog, and that’s crazy to me. I’ve shared my favourite bloggers several times on the blog, but my go-to feel good bloggers are The Anna Edit, Savannah Said It, Soph Hearts, Simply Lauren Rose and Mix And Match Mama!
What I’m up to this weekend:
Okay so we thought Matt was working all weekend, and we just found out the other day that he’s in early on Saturday, and off all day Sunday! We unexpectedly get most of our weekend together and we’re super happy about it. Tonight we’re just having a chilled night, making at home Nando’s and probably watching too many episodes of Brooklyn 99! I’m spending all of Saturday morning getting my blog content for the next few weeks as ready as possible. I have so many photos to take and I just want to tick them off my list! After Matt’s home from work we’re going to have a relaxed afternoon and get ready for date night. We’re finally going to see Aladdin and I can’t freaking wait! I am too excited for popcorn and Tango ice blasts, because everyone knows it’s not a trip to the movies without those! Sunday we’re heading to finish up our holiday shopping, eat Wagamama’s and keeping our fingers crossed for better weather so we can spend a little time in the afternoon at the beach. I’m excited for a productive but chilled weekend, it’s exactly what we need to unwind before a busy week ahead!
Thank you so much for reading! As I mentioned at the start of this post, I’d love to know the kind of things you guys want to know from me each week. (Or, every few weeks!) How has your week been? Are you as ready for the weekend as I am? I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
